Curriculum planning
Underpinned by the prescribed curriculum from the Education Bureau, our school-based spiral curriculum design is child-oriented that focuses on cultivating children's character, active learning and creative thinking skills, artistic development as well as healthy living habits.
We will follow the "Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide" (2017) to plan curriculum. Children of nursery classes will not be asked to write, and there will not be mechanical copying exercises and drills on calculation.
Learning / Teaching approach and activities
Thematic instruction, project-based learning, whole language instruction, and specifically on character education. Through free play, as well as inspiring and creative method to develop multi-intelligence through hands-on learning. Native speaking teachers for English and Mandarin classes. Activities include field visits, school trips, games day, birthday parties, reading programmes, festival worships and participation in community activities.
Assessment of children’s learning experiences
Continuous observation and periodic assessment which record all aspects of child development, complemented by collection of children’s works for an integrated analysis which becomes a child’s personal development portfolio for regularly reporting to parents.
